Why?
For purely selfish reasons! As a hair stylist, I am exposed to 8-10 times
the amount of grooming products than the normal consumer on a
daily basis. The fumes from my old color product were making me
nauseous, my skin was cracked and raw and my allergies were out of
control. I also had problems with infertility. Around 5 years ago, I read
several studies linking salon chemicals to a high percentage of cancer,
infertility, miscarriages, illness and allergies to stylists. My career was
making me sick! I stopped all texturizing and chemical relaxing services
and within months was able to get pregnant. I switched to a non-
ammonia color manufacturer and my eczema and allergies
disappeared! There is one path; it is my passion and purpose to create
a green, eco-friendly salon and help my clients make better consumer
choices with a minimal impact on our environment.
